How we support the Malala Fund

Over $6600 donated so far to the Malala Fund
(see our Donation Page)
When we started choosing a charity, we were looking for an organisation which was:
  • Deeply dedicated to educating and empowering girls around the world.
  • Trustworthy, run by inspiring people in a transparent way
  • Committed to keeping its admin costs low
  • Active in several different countries and cultures
We are delighted that this year’s chosen charity is the Malala Fund.

The Malala Fund does everything they can to help girls complete 12 years of safe, quality education so that girls can achieve their potential and be positive change-makers in their families and communities. They work with partners all over the world helping to empower girls and to amplify their voices. They invest in local education leaders and programmes. They advocate for more resources for education and safe schools for every child. They support projects in Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Kenya, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

Exactly what do we give to the Malala Fund?
Hilary Moore, the author, has already paid for and does not want back the costs of producing the Brave Strong Girls books. This means the only cost for the books is printing and publishing them through Amazon's independent publishing arm, KDP. This cost varies, depending on where the book is sold and in what volume, but the cost averages out at around 50% of the cover price. Hilary receives the rest of the money from the sale of a book and pays it in full to the Malala Fund.
